Tango - Bakker Bart Den Bosch

Tango Den Bosch is part of a new generation of mobility locations, where the role of a petrol station is evolving beyond fuel alone. With the station undergoing a full revamp, including a total plot redesign, the location offered the opportunity to rethink how food, convenience, and mobility can come together in one accessible destination. The brief was to transform this into a Bakker Bart location that could serve more than traditional petrol customers. Alongside drivers and EV users, the location needed to become relevant for the surrounding neighbourhood: a place for fresh bakery products, coffee, lunch, and everyday convenience. The challenge was to create a format that works operationally within a petrol station environment, while still carrying the familiarity and quality of a recognised Bakker Bart brand.

Conceptional supported the development of a Bakker Bart location within the renewed Tango station. The work focused on translating the Bakker Bart proposition into a mobility environment, defining the customer journey, product logic, spatial principles, and operational set-up. The concept needed to be fast and accessible for on-the-go customers, while also inviting enough to attract local residents throughout the day. This included introducing a Bakker Bart bakery offer within a petrol station environment, building out a fresh food, coffee, and lunch proposition for both mobility and neighbourhood customers, mapping the customer journey for petrol, EV, and local visitors, and establishing the spatial and operational principles for a future pilot roll-out across the Netherlands. The result is a pilot location that repositions the petrol station as a broader convenience destination. By combining Tango's mobility function with the bakery appeal of Bakker Bart, the location serves multiple customer groups and creates a stronger reason to visit beyond fuel alone.
