Laying the Strategic Foundations for F&B – Eindhoven Airport

With around 6.9 million passengers travelling through Eindhoven Airport each year, the airport is preparing for a major terminal expansion, scheduled for completion in July 2027. The transformation creates an opportunity to look beyond additional capacity and ask a more fundamental question: how should Food & Beverage evolve to meet future passenger expectations, profiles and needs?

Conceptional was asked to establish the strategic foundations for this next phase, starting with a Value for Money Quickscan of the existing F&B experience. Together with the Eindhoven Airport team, we evaluated how different target groups perceive the current offer, analysed audience segments and their contexts, and deep-dived into customer journeys and passenger needs. Working sessions with the airport team helped sharpen the personas and create a shared understanding of the opportunities ahead.

The outcome was a clear set of strategic starting points for the future F&B proposition, grounded in passenger needs, commercial performance and the realities of the airport environment. These insights became the foundation for the next phase: translating a deeper understanding of passengers and value perception into a future-proof F&B masterplan for both the existing airport and the upcoming terminal extension. By connecting customer insight with commercial ambition, Eindhoven Airport now has a stronger strategic basis for evolving its F&B experience, creating greater relevance for passengers while supporting the airport's transformation towards 2027 and beyond.
