CitizenM, an innovative hotel brand, is designed around a new type of traveller – one who values a luxury hotel experience in central city locations, but at an affordable price. A hybrid hotel that isn’t just a place to sleep, but somewhere to work, relax, and play. This location stands out because of a different atmosphere: with 84 rooms, it is much smaller than the others, giving the guests an intimate experience, just like a boutique hotel. The hotel is located in the second arrondissement, also known as the theatre district.

Paris Opera is the fifth Paris location for citizenM, the challenge for this hotel was how to fit every part of the hotel experience into the building, across all the different levels. The guests are arriving at the ground floor, and the lower level is the centre of the public areas where the canteenM bar, communal areas, and meeting rooms are found. So this also means for hotel operations, different levels of storage and flow & routing. CitizenM Opera is like a secret, canteenM is there to explore and fits like a suit, every inch is filled and carefully planned with, for example dishwashing area behind the scenes and the bar the bar that blends seamlessly into the staircase. Conceptional guided the team in terms of F&B space planning, bar & kitchen layouts and equipment based on their building blocks.
