Café Americain – The Netherlands
On the 18th of December 2017, the iconic restaurant Café Americain reopened its doors. The restaurant is located at Leidseplein in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam. In the fifties, the restaurant was the place to meet with each other, this has been transformed into a modern restaurant with a classic twist. Both the menu and the Interior has been transformed with Class & Classics as starting point.Inspired by the rich history of the American Hotel and with ‘Class & Classics’ as starting point, Studio Linse has created the design of Café Americain. The design connects with the historical elements of the building and has a modern twist that makes it timeless. The bar is the central point of the new Café Americain, the heart of the matter where coffee, wines, snacks can be consumed, a place where a variety of people feel at ease and come together. The bar is a stage for her beloved Amsterdam, with tastings of local spirits and products. The menu has been developed by star-chef chef Peter Gast. The dishes are classy, presented in a modern way and prepared with local products and ingredients. The traditional hotel buffet transformed into an Amsterdam breakfast platter and the lunch and dinner dishes are the best classics, presented with a golden touch.
